4 Ways To Monetize Your Social Media Presence

Look not everything needs to be monetized, regardless of how much time you spend doing it, or enjoying it. Some things are meant to stay hobbies….but….some others could be untapped potential. I'll leave it up to you to decide if you're interested in pursuing more money for the fancies of life….or if all that scrolling is for pure entertainment only! For those of you looking for tips on how to monetize your social media presence, here are 4 ways:

1. Become an Influencer

Now that's easier said than done and if you're camera shy….fear not…all hope is not lost. If this route interests you, there's tons of options to review products, food, and more without ever showing your face. You can be creative with your angles and film top down shots of products, keeping your hands as the star of the show. You can film showing yourself from the neck down with the type of content you create. There's tons of Creators who get creative with their angles in an effort to avoid showing their face. Now I will say, showing your face does connect your audience to you more, but if you're clever in your storytelling, you can still connect in other ways.

2. Sell Your Own Products

There's more places online to do this now than ever and if you have a budget to hire someone for product photography or to model with your product or service, you can bypass being the star of the show if you're camera shy. But if you're not…start promoting yourself on your socials, it's free, and with good marketing tactics, there's still organic growth that can happen!

3. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn some extra income….and you can do it without all the headaches of having to create your own product. You can earn commissions off of selling products and services that others have created. I won't say this should be looked to as a sole means of building income….because it is a slow process….and requires a great deal of time building relationships with an audience that will trust your voice on the products you review. But building that audience and relationship is a great way to earn some “passive income”, passive, in that, you do the hard work of promoting it upfront, and if you create content that does well long term, there's not much else you need to do for the commissions!

4. Work With Brands

Working with brands can be a lot of fun, because you can learn many aspects of business with some effort on your end. Negotiating rates, communicating with people who work in large corporations, how to market yourself to get projects, and more. It's a rewarding process and a great deal of fun when you work with brands on long campaigns! That said, this is another route that should be accompanied with other methods to build income, as it's not a means of working that's always possible. Brands/Businesses go through different seasons of working with Creators and if it's a down season….you could find yourself struggling to find work. Build your audience, be engaging with your content and your audience. Brands don't always look for Creators with the largest followings, because their budget doesn't always allow them to. But if you have a strong established relationship with your audience, you could be more valuable than you think!

So there you have it, the tips you've been looking for have been laid out for you. Try one or all of them to monetize your social media presence and once you apply any of these methods, come back and let us know. We love celebrating the wins of others!
